My worthless two cents, I think we really lack in the scrambling department as a whole. Watching Mendez fight off two deep shots and come out on top is something we haven’t seen from Iowa guys much. Not to mention, Mendez was an Iowa guy growing up and we didn’t land him.

The most concerning thing to me is that we haven’t had a guy not named Spencer win a title since Cory Clark. Hard to keep up with that being the situation

I wish there was an easy button to fix things, but the hawks feel far away from Penn state currently. With Cass and nelson we would have most likely finished second, but still 70+ points behind.

Our annual Arctic Plunge fundraiser provides financial assistance that directly impacts our athletes. Expenses for domestic competitions, training camps, and foreign tours are all possible because of you! These donations help us stay at the top of our craft and focus on the task at hand… WRESTLING!

Our event will include an icy jump into frigid waters, a costume contest and the coveted Jumper All-American awards ceremony! Guests and Jumpers will have access to a cash bar along with complimentary keg beer, pizza and hot drinks!

149/157(Voinivich, Rathjen, Siebrecht, Anthony Ferrari(red shirt available) and Franek) Front runners: 149:Voinivich;157:Franek. I really like our other 3 guys. Honestly, it would not surprise me to see any of the 4(not Franek) take the spot at 149.

24/25 Franek graduates and Block could be in the mix. Hopefully he can make 141. Still have 4 guys for 2 weights. 149: Voinivich/Rathjen 157: Anthony Ferrari/Siebrecht

23/24

165/174(Kennedy, Caliendo, Riggins, Arnold(Red shirt available), Swafford, Nelson Brands Front runners: 165: Kennedy 174: Brands. I know Caliendo is the returning AA but I also think Kennedy AA's with his draw. I'm giving the edge to Kennedy until proven otherwise.

24/25 Brands and Swafford graduate. Still leaves 4 guys for 2 weights. I see 165:Kennedy/Riggins and 174: Arnold/Caliendo. I like Arnold a lot. I think 174 is his spot. Surely an All American did not transfer to Iowa to ride the pine. for the remainder of his career. Maybe Kennedy or Riggins goes down to 157 to an already crowded weight class. Maybe Arnold or Caliendo hit the weights hard and hulk into a 184 pounder. That weight will be tough to crack with Angelo Ferrari coming in and wanting to wrestle as a true freshman.

One thing is for certain, we have the best depth from 149-174, in the Brands era as coaches at Iowa.
